Validity of the IDRO sweat lactate sensor

Since measuring lactate in sweat with wearable sensor is a new concept, the validity of this method has to be compared with the gold standard to measure lactate in sweat. In the scientific paper of Xuan et al (https://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/acssensors.1c01009) the IDRO sweat lactate measurments are compared with the lactate values of collected samples analysed with ion chromotography (IC).

As can be seen in the table below, the differences between the sensor and IC lactate values are low, ranging from 1.7% to 11.7%. This indicates a high validity of the IDRO sensor with the gold standard.
